Roger Martinez, PhD

Dr. Roger R. Martinez supports the land grant mission of Texas A&M University by providing services that assist in the development, implementation, maintenance, and assessment of partnerships and engagement efforts.  Some of the organizations and events he supports include the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives, Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence, Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce, Energy Day, and the Texas A&M Hispanic Network. Previous to his current position, Dr. Martinez served as the Senior Associate Director of Recruitment in the Office of Admissions, an Associate Director in the Department of Scholarships & Financial Aid, and an Associate Director in Corps Recruiting for the Office of the Commandant at Texas A&M University. Additionally, he has over 12 years of corporate leadership experience with H-E-B and Walmart Distribution, and served four years as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Dr. Martinez received a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Management from Texas A&M University in 1986, an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1997, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication from Texas A&M University in 2013. In addition, Dr. Martinez was recognized as a Tradition of Excellence Staff Awardee and serves as a coach and mentor to students and their organizations. He was selected as a namesake for Texas A&M Fish Camp 2019 and is the past president of the Catholic Faculty and Staff Network at TAMU and participates in hospital and prison ministry.
